Assistant Minister

This is a key role to support the Vicar in the preaching and leadership of the church. The Assistant Minister is line manager for several staff positions helping guide, pastor and appraise including the oversight of Cornhill students.

We are a church family of 520 (380 adults) and offer a warm welcome to those who want to join us on Sundays and mid-week. We are supported by a team of full and part-time staff.

St John’s Tunbridge Wells is a complementarian conservative evangelical church in the Church of England.

This is a senior full-time paid appointment; housing is provided. 

Preferably applicants should be available to commence the role in January 2027, although a later start date can be agreed, must have a right to work in the UK, and will need an enhanced DBS check.  

The role is open to candidates ordained in the Anglican Communion or who have held a recognised teaching role with appropriate theological education in another denomination/church network.
